Production process of graphitized petroleum coke

Graphitized petroleum coke is a high-purity graphite material made from petroleum coke through a specific high-temperature graphitization process. Graphitization treatment is usually performed at high temperatures. Petroleum coke is exposed to a thermal environment with temperatures as high as 2500°C or above. Through pyrolysis and graphitization reactions, its structure changes to form a pure graphite structure.

Graphitized petroleum coke has excellent properties such as high temperature strength, high conductivity, high thermal stability and chemical stability, and is widely used in electrodes, graphite materials, refractory materials, semiconductor materials and other fields. At the same time, due to its high purity and complete lattice structure, it is also used in high-tech fields, such as aerospace, nuclear engineering, optoelectronics and other fields.

The production process of graphitized petroleum coke usually includes the following steps:

1. Raw material screening and crushing:

Select high-quality petroleum coke materials and crush them into appropriate particle sizes after screening, crushing and other processes.

2. Roasting:

Put the petroleum coke material of appropriate size into a high-temperature furnace for roasting. At the same time, roasting also helps to purify and upgrade petroleum coke, giving it higher calorific value and better physical properties.

3. Cooling and sorting:

The roasted petroleum coke blocks need to be cooled to lower their temperature. Then, the petroleum coke blocks are mechanically sorted to remove unqualified products and ensure product quality.

4. Graphitization treatment:

The cooled petroleum coke is graphitized. High-temperature graphitization is usually used, that is, the petroleum coke blocks are put into a graphitization furnace and graphitized at high temperature (2800°C-3000°C). During this process, the remaining impurities in the petroleum coke blocks will gradually evaporate, and the carbon elements will rearrange to form a tighter graphite structure, ultimately forming high-purity graphitized petroleum coke.

5. Packaging and leaving the factory:

The graphitized petroleum coke is finely processed and packaged, and the finished graphitized petroleum coke can be sold out of the factory and used to make electrodes, cathodes, boiler fuel and other industrial products.
